Mr b was talking about a machine when I had an idear. You can store wind energy by compressing air and pumping it underground. The problem is when you release the air cools and does not realease as much energy as was put in. A Stirling engine needs a hot and cold sink.what stops cold being -50 and hot being room temp. Thus the cooling becomes a source of energy not a waste.
