Swimming pool solar hearting.

One of the things I do find it quite irritating is technological ignorance. For example there was an item on the radio recently saying that many public swimming pools in the UK were going to have to reduce their opening times due to the rising cost of gas to heat them. I heard quotes of 50,000 to 100,000 pounds to heat a swimming pool for a year.

Now want I found irritating was that people kept bleating 'well with the rise in cost of fuel want can we do there is "NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE" except to close the swimming pool down to save money.

Such nonsense. For 10,000 they could get quite a large thermal solar panel installed. Having had experience with these things (we had one in the old house) I can promise that they could easily save about %50 of the heating costs over the year. So no only would they make the saving back in the first year they could also make a significant contribution to halting global warming.

You might think with that kind of incentive they might have heard of this off the self technology but no they have not.

Makes you wonder how stupid the people that run swimming pools really are ?

like i said ignorance of the huge spectrum of possibilities can be very annoying for me.

Well the aggravation is now lost to the the ether
